In this legacy Callin episode from October 9, 2022, I joined a panel of speakers including Michael Shellenberger, Emment Penney, Shant Mesrobian, Leighton Woodhouse, & Anna Khachiyan to discuss “Woke Narcissism.” We cover a lot of ground, including the different forms of narcissism that have been identified in empirical research, narcissism in environmental activists and as a signature feature of the Green movement, and the cultural history of media and literary portrayals and critiques of narcissism. This discussion continues to remain highly relevant for understanding our cultural politics and the encroach of a New Left cultural revolution characterized by vulnerable narcissism and the display of vulnerable victimhood.
